1) Try And Imitate Nature - The big three search engines are looking for good quality sites made by real people, not some automated script spitting out tens or hundreds of blogs per month stuffed with keywords and ads. 2) Give The Visitor Good Value - Every post you write should ideally offer some value to your viewers. Now this doesn’t mean it has to alter their life or anything but it should offer them a good read. Even posts about a related article which includes a link or a product review are good. Blogs just containing RSS feeds do not offer value and are not a good recipe for success in the long term. 3) Try And Make It Sticky - Your aim should be to get repeat visitors to your blog. Surfers who visit once, never to be seen again, ain't gonna do you a lot of good. You can include RSS reader buttons so that your visitors can subscribe to the feed. Also opt-in newsletters which offer more than mere updates are a good idea. But at the end of the day the best way to get people to return is by giving them excellent likable content. 4) Profit From Blogs - If your aim is to make money from your blog then it is vital that you do some research first and choose the right market or niche. This step can make a huge difference to your future earnings. 5) Don’t Leave Your Blog Idle - There can be massive differences in blogs that are regularly updated and blogs that don’t get new posts. You don’t necessarily have to post each day or even every other day, just ensure you don’t set them up and forget about them, because as sure as eggs is eggs they will die off and receive little or no traffic.
